This year’s edition of ‘Le Printemp des Alizés’ was quite a successful one in terms of the quality of the program and its interest and openness to cultural musical ceremonies, especially that the concerts took place in a synagogue, church, and in Dar Swiri that has a significant place in Morocco’s history, as a testimony to the love and passion the city gives to arts and music.

This year’s festivals and concerts were the most outstanding since the beginning of this festival 19 years ago. They shed light on the “chamber music” and a number of classical musicians such as Brahams, Schumann, Schubert, Beethoven and Vivaldi. As usual, Dar Swiri managed to highlight the musical notes of the soloists like Guillaume Vincent on the piano, Raphael Sevère on clarinet, the talented soprano Marie-Laure Garnier, and the pianist Tristan Raes.

‘Le printemps des Alizés’ has invested a new place which is “Bayt Dakira”, an old synagogue renovated and reformed to save the heritage of the mixture cultures exist in the city. As a result, this investment succeeded in welcoming and bringing all music and arts of this assortment and preserving the memory and spirit of the beautiful city of Essaouira.

The talented Hamza Bennani Smiress along with his band have participated in the closing concert as they took the opportunity to pay tribute to Erik Satie. Hamza Bennani played a jazz version with his trumpet of the classical songs of Eric Satie and he successfully made the rhymes flow and travel through Jazz and Latin Chaabi.
