Casablanca Derby: Raja Qualified after a Comeback of Madness!

This is a Casablanca derby that will go down in history! This Saturday, Raja Casablanca made an incredible comeback against their neighbor Wydad Casablanca in the 8th Round of the Arab Club Cup to qualify for the number of goals scored away (1-1, 4-4)!

After the draw conceded at home in the first match, the matter was not well embarked for Raja Casablance. Nahiri had quickly opened the score by a Panenka from a penalty for the Wydad (12min) and, after Moutouali’s equalizer on another penalty (50min), a real tornado hit the Green Eagle with three goals from the Wydad scored by Hassouni (56min), El Kaabi (58min) and Badie Aouk (73min) which brought the score to 4-1.

As the last 15 minutes approached, Raja, who recently dismissed Patrice Carteron, needed three goals to turn the tide. But Jamal Sellami’s men never gave up and Ahadad reduced the score one minute after the last opponent’s goal (74min). On 88 minutes, Moutouali then reduced his side to 3-4 by scoring his second goal of the evening with a Panenka penalty. Then, after extra time, on 94 minutes, Congolese Ben Malango scored the equalizer and qualified with a header in a delirious stadium.

In the quarter-finals, Morocco will be represented by Raja but also by Olympique Club of Safi, who achieved a huge win by eliminating Esperance Tunis in Radès (1-1, 1-1, 4-2 tab).
