The Moroccan goalkeeper Yassine Bounou will stay at FC Sevilla. The Andalusian club has reached an agreement with Gerona to definitively purchase the contract of the Moroccan international.
Bounou, who had a great season marked by the Europa League title, will defend the colors of the Andalusian team for the next four seasons, announced FC Sevilla. “FC Sevilla and FC Girona have reached an agreement for the transfer, for the next four years, of goalkeeper Yassine Bounou who played on loan to the Sevilla club last season,” the club said in a statement.
“The Moroccan goalkeeper has achieved an exceptional season ending, being one of the main contributors to Seville’s sixth victory in the UEFA Europa League, crowned by a magnificent tournament final with great performances,” the Seville club writes. Bounou played a total of 18 matches last season, 10 in the Europa League, 6 in La Liga and 2 in the King’s Cup.
Under contract with Girona until 2021, Bounou defended the colors of the Catalan club in 85 matches (52 in the first division, 32 in the second division and 1 in the King’s Cup).
The Atlas Lions goalkeeper arrived in Spain in 2012 from Wydad Casablanca and played for the Atletico Madrid and Real Zaragoza back-up team before joining Girona in 2016.
