African Lion 2020: Here Is the Starting Date of this Important Joint Exercise

” Maritime exercise with naval firing, air exercise with F16 and KC-135 aircraft, joint forced entry with paratroopers in a field training exercise, medical preparedness exercise, chemical and biological response exercise and humanitarian civic aid program”.

These are the main themes of the African Lion 2020, jointly organized by the United States and Morocco, the host country of this joint Allied and joint exercise, the largest on the African continent.

In addition to the United States and Morocco, this annual exercise will feature the participation of the Tunisian Armed Forces, the Senegalese Armed Forces, the Spanish Armed Forces and the Armed Forces of Italy, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands.

In fiscal year 2019, the US Army and the FAR used laser-guided bombs, GBU-24 Paveway III and GBU-12 Paveway II, for the first time. Moroccan and American F-16s also performed surface attacks and large-scale operations.

The aim of the exercise is to prepare the ground for access and inter-operability between partner countries against adversary networks aimed at destabilizing the region and threatening freedom of movement.
