This event aims to strengthen advocacy for the preservation of the world’s oases and to develop a modest tourism model, a driving force for sustainable local development. It also aims to encourage the exchange of experiences and good practices between the partners concerned, to strengthen national and international networks and to contribute to the formulation of participatory action plans and to enable their implementation. This event also aims at promoting Ouarzazate as a prestigious national and international tourist destination, with a rich heritage composed of oases, Ksours and Kasbahs, while promoting its integration in its regional environment and consolidating its central role in enhancing the tourist attractiveness of the Daraa-Tafilalet region .

The organization of the 8th edition of the International Forum on Solidarity Tourism and Sustainable Development is an opportunity to discuss the possibilities of developing a “responsible tourism model” through the organization of seminars, thematic workshops and presentations of concert examples concerning sustainable development programs of oases in the regions of Ouarzazate and Smara.

During this forum, convoys will be organized to oases in the Dara-Tafilalet region. An exhibition of local products, handicrafts and biodiversity products will also take place. An exhibition of photos of oases around the world, cultural evenings at the Kasbah of Taourirt and the Almohades Square, the projection of films in the open air on the theme of sustainable tourism, or a visit to the Noor complex for solar energy in Ouarzazate, are all activities that are on the program of this event.

This forum is organized in partnership with the Ministry of Tourism, Handicraft, Air Transport and Social Economy.
