Saddiki: “Dutch-Moroccans Must Choose Morocco”

Willem II Tilburg football player Dries Saddiki appeared this week in an interview with Canal Atlas. The player talked about his international choice and advises his compatriots to do the same.

The player made his professional debut in 2014 with Fortuna Sittard in Dutch D2. In 2018, he makes a four-year commitment to Willem II Tilburg. A pure No6 in the midfield position, he has been a key member of his team since his arrival. His team is currently ranked third in the Eredivisie after Ajax Amsterdam and AZ Alkmaar.

The 23-year-old player talks about his international choice. I’m from Ouarzazate, from Skoura to be precise,” he said. It’s an honor for me to represent my city in football. I hope to be called up to the national team at least once, so that they can see me live on their television.

“The National Team has a new coach. He’s going to keep bringing in new players. The Moroccans here have to choose Morocco so that we can improve the team together. There are a lot of Moroccan players in the Eredivisie. They play regularly and they are doing well. I hope there will be a replacement for this new national team. The choice of Hakim Ziyech for Morocco has opened a lot of doors for the Dutch-Moroccan players to opt for Morocco”. He goes on to say: “If Morocco summons me, I’ll go to Morocco with great pleasure if God wills it.”
