Ziyech Will Be Back Sooner than Expected

Injured in the calf, Hakim Ziyech could return earlier than expected. The Moroccan has already started running again.

Ajax coach Erik Ten Hag hopes to be able to count on Hakim Ziyech in the short term. According to Fox Sports, the player’s recovery is going well and he is even managing to run normally.

However, the coach is not overly optimistic. Asked about the possibility of seeing Ziyech again with Ajax next weekend, Ten Hag remains wise: “We don’t have the green light from the medical staff yet, but I think he’s on the right track.

Ziyech, who scored six goals and made 12 assists in 18 Eredivisie games, suffered a torn calf muscle on 19 January in a match against Sparta Rotterdam. His return was originally scheduled for the second half of February.
