Taarabt: “I’m Very Lucky and I Don’t Like to Talk about the Past.”

Adel Taarabt is a new man. Having become one of the most used players at Benfica Lisbon this season, the Atlas Lion has put the past behind him.

Appreciated by Bruno Lage, his coach at Benfica Lisbon, Adel Taarabt has regained his composure. He told Portuguese journalists yesterday on the sidelines of a charity visit to a Lisbon hospital: “I’m very happy. I don’t like to talk about the past too much. I am focused on this season. I feel good and I hope to continue like this.

The Moroccan also spoke of his versatility as a midfielder: “I like playing in the number 10 position, but here we play 4-4-2. Whatever the coach says, I’ll be there when I’m needed. I’ll always give my all for my club and my team-mates.”

Taarabt’s season with Benfica is 13 league games, two cup games and four Champions League games. After 17 games, the Eagles lead the Liga NOS standings on 48 points, seven points clear of second-placed Porto.
