The head of government, Saâd-Eddine El Othmani highlighted, on Thursday in Rabat, the solidity of relations between Morocco and China, describing them as “historic and deep”.
Receiving the ambassador of the People’s Republic of China in Morocco, Li Li, who handed him a message from the Chinese prime minister, El Othmani stressed the continued support of King Mohammed VI to these relations, which have been given a strong boost after the royal visit to Beijing in 2016, said a statement of the Head of Government’s department.
After stressing Morocco’s determination to further promote bilateral relations, the head of government conveyed to Mr. Li Li his wishes of success to China in its efforts to combat the Coronavirus epidemic, the same source added.
For his part, the Chinese diplomat gave an overview of his country’s efforts to deal with the outbreak, noting that these efforts have reduced the number of new infections and deaths.
The ambassador also expressed his thanks to King Mohammed VI and the Kingdom for the moral support given to his country after the outbreak of the epidemic, noting that China highly appreciates Morocco and wishes to strengthen and develop Chinese-Moroccan relations.
