Badr Hari makes his big comeback in the ring. Injured during his last fight in December 2019 against Rico Verhoeven, the Moroccan kick-boxer will make his return on June 20, 2020 at the Rotterdam Ahoy Arena. According to Glory, Badr Hari’s opponent will be revealed on February 29th at the Glory 75.
Rico Verhoeven was crowned World Heavyweight Kickboxing Champion after Badr Hari’s withdrawal due to injury in a thrilling battle on December 21, 2019 in Arnhem. The 35-year-old Moroccan champion suffered a left ankle injury in the third round that forced him to abandon the fight, after managing to knock out his rival twice in the first two rounds.
A few hours after the fight, Badr Hari sent a long message to his fans to thank them for their support and to give them an update on his progress. “I would like to thank my whole army for this incredible night of fighting. You guys were incredible. I can’t describe what I felt as I walked into the ring in a crazy atmosphere. It was unique and I’m very proud of your support,” he wrote on his social networks.
He added: “You can imagine how difficult it is for me to accept this result. I showed the world that I am still the most dominant fighter in the heavyweight category. I am also convinced that I will win this belt. I would also like to thank Rico Verhoeven for his sportsmanship after my injury. I’ll be back, be ready”.
