The Moroccan Mouad Hajji Resigns from his Post at CAF

The Moroccan Mouad Hajji, Secretary General of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), handed his resignation on Monday to CAF President Ahmad Ahmad, who accepted the resignation, CAF said in a statement.

An emergency committee of CAF will meet very soon to appoint a provisional general secretary, said Ahmad Ahmad, who expressed his thanks and gratitude to Hajji for the valuable work he has done in the direction of the reforms of the organization and African football since his appointment.

For his part, Hajji expressed his thanks and appreciation to the President of CAF for giving him the opportunity to serve African football at this level of responsibility, stressing that he still believes in the many reform projects that CAF is carrying out in the sporting and administrative fields since 2017.

Mouad Hajji was appointed in April 2019 to replace the Egyptian Amr Fahmy, who died last week from a serious illness.
