Suspension of Classes: Students Must Stay at Home (Ministries)

The Ministries of the Interior, National Education, Vocational Training, Higher Education and Scientific Research, and Health inform pupils, students, trainees and their parents, as well as all citizens that the suspension of classes from Monday 16 March does not in any way mean the introduction of exceptional school holidays, but just the cessation of face-to-face classes and their replacement by distance learning.

This suspension is part of the exceptional preventive measures aimed at protecting the health of pupils, students, trainees, and all citizens who must respect the rules of hygiene, avoid handshakes, and not come into contact with the elderly or people whose health is particularly fragile, the ministries said in a joint statement.

Pupils, students and trainees are thus called upon to stay at home, not to travel and not to engage in or play sports or any other activities and to follow the courses which will be broadcast from Monday 16 March 2020 through the electronic portal “TilmidTICE” or via the television channel “Arrabia”, according to the same source.

It should be noted that as part of the preventive measures taken to address the danger of the spread of the new Coronavirus at the level of the national territory, the public authorities had decided to ban all public gatherings attended by more than 50 people, as well as the cancellation of all sporting, cultural and artistic events and meetings.
