The Casablanca Stock Exchange Has a New CEO

Tarik Senhaji has been appointed Managing Director of the Casablanca Stock Exchange, succeeding Karim Hajji who has retired.

The new General Manager will take office as from April 2nd 2020, indicates a press release of the Stock Exchange, noting that Senhaji was unanimously appointed by the Board of Directors of the Stock Exchange and in compliance with legal and regulatory provisions.

A graduate of the Polytechnic School of Paris and the National School of Statistics and Economic Administration (ENSAE) in Paris, Senhaji began his career as Chief Financial Officer at the International Finance Corporation (World Bank Group) in Washington DC, adds the same source.

He then held various capital markets-related management positions at Société Générale, Dresdner Kleinwort Benson, Calyon CIB and Natixis CIB in London.

Senhaji has more than 23 years of experience in the financial sector in the Moroccan and international markets. Prior to this appointment, he was Managing Director of Ithmar Capital, the sovereign fund for strategic investment, and Chairman of Moroccan Society of Tourist Engineering.

The Board of Directors also wished to salute Hajji’s action at the head of the Casablanca Stock Exchange for almost 11 years, underlining his unfailing commitment, his role in the transformation of the Moroccan stock market and his contribution to the influence of the market.
