The club from Olympiakos, where Moroccan international Youssef El Arabi plays, won their 45th Greek league title thanks to a 2-1 win over AEK Athens, a victory that will earn them a direct ticket to next season’s Champions League.
Olympiakos claimed the title thanks to goals from Youssef El-Arabi (38′) and Mady Camara (45′), to which Sergio Araujo replied in the 66th minute. Olympiakos are now 78 points clear at the top of the standings, compared to 59 for Paok Salonika, their closest challengers, with six rounds remaining.
AEK are third, three points behind 2019 champions Paok. They will have a chance to take revenge on their Athenian rivals in the Greek Cup final, which is likely to be held at the end of July.
