The Ministry of Culture and the National Museum Foundation Strengthen their Partnership

Othman El Ferdaous, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, and Mehdi Qotbi, President of the National Museum Foundation, were present at the signing ceremony for the three conventions.

The Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports and the National Museum Foundation (NMF) signed, on Wednesday in Rabat, three conventions aimed at deepening their partnership in several areas.

These conventions focus on deepening the partnership between the two parties in three areas, namely the loan of about a hundred works by Moroccan artists from the Department of Culture’s unexposed collection, with a view to sharing them with a wide audience through various exhibitions that will be programmed in the Kingdom’s museums and internationally, says a joint statement by the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports -Department of Culture- and the FNM.

It is also a solidarity contribution of up to 2 million Dirhams to the program of acquisition of works of professional Moroccan artists residing in Morocco to enrich the collections of the FNM and participate in mitigating the negative impact of the crisis on artists, according to the same source.

The third area concerns participation in the digitization of the FNM collections by providing it with the very high definition scanner of the National Library of the Kingdom of Morocco (BNRM), adds the statement, noting that this third agreement was signed with the director of the BNRM.

This multi-dimensional partnership aims in particular, in the present phase, to share the cultural wealth of the Kingdom in order to restore them to the public, both through museums and through remote exhibitions, concludes the press release.
