Considerable Increase in Covid-19 Cases in the Agadir Region

A notable increase was recorded in the total number of confirmed cases in Covid-19 in the Souss-Massa region, underlined the monitoring commission at the level of the Agadir prefecture during its weekly meeting.

The commission discussed at this meeting the evolution of the epidemiological situation in the region, particularly after having increased from 18 cases last week to 61 this week.

According to the same source, all these cases have been detected in urban and semi-urban areas, noting that the infected individuals are asymptomatic and are following their treatment at home in accordance with the protocol in force.

Furthermore, the committee stressed the need to follow the preventive measures and health rules in order to deal with this pandemic.

It should be noted that 1,306 new cases of Coronavirus infection (Covid-19) and 957 cures have been recorded in Morocco in the last 24 hours, the Ministry of Health announced Friday.

This new assessment brings the number of contaminations in the Kingdom to 39,241 since the first case reported on March 2 and the number of fully recovered people to 27,644, representing a cure rate of 70.4%.

The region of Souss-Massa reported 25 new cases: Inezgane-Ait Melloul (8), Agadir-Ida-Outanane (16), and one new case in Tiznit.
