In recent days, the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra region has seen a significant increase in the number of Covid-19 positive cases. An upward trend that is beginning to cause concern.
On Friday, 109 new cases were recorded in the region, compared to 173 the day before (36 in Salé, 47 in Témara, 27 in Kenitra, 40 in Rabat, 06 in Sidi Kacem and 17 cases in Khémisset). On Wednesday 12 August, 167 new contaminations were recorded (35 in Témara, 73 in Salé, 09 in Kénitra, 37 in Rabat, 08 in Sidi Kacem and 05 cases in Khémisset), making Rabat-Salé-Kénitra one of the regions with the highest daily death rate.
In response to this upsurge in the number of cases in Covid-19, the authorities have begun a series of restrictive and control measures. In Salé, for example, several neighborhoods have been quarantined. Barriers have been set up at the various access points, both in the city and its suburbs.
Strict surveillance and control are also in place to apprehend all those who do not comply with the state of health emergency measures or do not wear protective masks.
