Back to School in Morocco: The Ministry Chooses for Distance Learning

In Morocco, students are set for the start of the new school year. They will be taught remotely until further notice.

Distance education will be adopted as a pedagogical model at the beginning of the school year 2020-2021 which begins on September 7. This concerns all levels and cycles, in all public and private institutions as well as in schools of foreign missions, announced on Saturday the Ministry of National Education, Vocational Training, Higher Education and Scientific Research.

In a statement, the ministry said that classroom teaching will be provided for learners whose parents opt for this model, knowing that a mechanism will be established to enable families to make such a choice. This decision, he explained, is based on the worrying epidemiological situation that the country is currently experiencing, marked by a significant increase in cases of contamination and the number of critical cases and deaths.
