Ouarzazate: President of the Provincial Council of Tourism Passed Away at the Age of 69 Years

Having completed his specialized higher education in Belgium, the deceased was one of the pioneers of the Moroccan hotel industry. Rahou Belghazi left behind him a long career as an active member in the promotion of national tourism, particularly the destination of Ouarzazate to which he devoted most of his time for many years. He has long worked to improve the city’s air connectivity and its promotion both nationally and internationally (fairs, exhibitions, etc.).

He was involved in the creation of the first Provincial Tourism Council (CPT) in Morocco, that of Ouarzazate, of which he was president three times: 2004-2006, 2007-2011, and since 2018.  He has also been president of the Hotel Industry Association (AIH) since its creation in 1986. Rahou Belghazi directed several flagships of the hotel industry, including the Tour Hassan Hotel in Rabat and, from the late 1980s until his death on Saturday, August 22, 2020.
