Covid-19: The Descartes High School Has Been Closed

Descartes High School has just been closed following the detection of several cases of Covid-19 contamination among its teaching staff.

In a press release from its now famous precautionary Najat Depeyrat, published on the Descartes High School website and distributed to parents, we learn that a temporary closure of this large school, which has about 3000 students, has been instituted for a period of 14 days during which students will attend classes in remote mode.

The press release also specifies that as of Monday, September 14, each principal teacher will contact the class for which he or she is responsible in order to accompany the students in the organization of this mode of teaching. “An exceptional pedagogical council will meet on Monday morning and will determine the details of the organization of this distance learning”, notes the same source, adding that the modalities will be communicated to the parents from Monday evening.

It is worth mentioning, again in Rabat, that on Sunday, September 13, the private school group Jacques Chirac, also affiliated with the AEFE, was in the midst of great excitement. This was because of the disinfection of its premises and the organization of collective tests among its staff, one of whose members was reported to be a Covid-19 carrier. Following this and as a provisional prudential measure, the parents of the students were informed that the teaching would be given in remote mode until at least Monday September 14th.
