Just hours after the announcement by the United States of America of the historic decision to recognize the Moroccanness of the Sahara and Morocco’s claim to have established diplomatic relations with Israel, Prince Hicham, cousin of HM King Mohammed VI, published a tweet on his Twitter account. He revealed his position regarding these two important decisions.
The prince, who lives abroad, said that the Kingdom’s policy “has been distinguished by its constant and pragmatic historical support for the Palestinian cause”. Thus, he affirmed his conviction to continue on this path.
He also said that “Morocco has distinguished itself by its constant and pragmatic historical support to the Palestinian cause, and I have no doubt that it will continue in this direction”.
The cousin of the Moroccan sovereign stressed that the solution “permanent and final solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict will only be achieved by satisfying the legitimate rights of the Palestinians”.
He concluded the tweet by saying that “the decision of the U.S. administration to recognize Morocco’s sovereignty over the Sahara is a courageous step, we hope that the next administration will take the same approach”.
