Morocco’s ambassador to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), Samir Addahre, reiterated Morocco’s “full support” for the candidacy of Mrs. Audrey Azoulay for a second term at the head of UNESCO. “This support stems from our adherence to the concrete and reforming action of Mrs. Azoulay and aims to enable her to carry out this mission for a greater influence of UNESCO,” he said.
It should be noted that the Unesco executive board has overwhelmingly approved the reappointment of Mrs. Audrey Azoulay as head of the institution, French media reported on Wednesday. The 58-member board decided to “recommend” Ms. Azoulay’s candidacy to the Unesco General Conference, which is expected to formally confirm her at its 41st session scheduled for November 9-24 in Paris.
