Initially scheduled for this Friday, April 1, the visit to Morocco of the Spanish Minister of Foreign Affairs, will be postponed to a later date.

José Manuel Albares will have to accompany the head of the Spanish government during his next visit to the Kingdom, reports El Confidencial. A visit that comes after the clear improvement of bilateral relations between the two neighboring kingdoms.

And according to the Spanish newspaper, which relays a tweet from Pedro Sanchez, the next bilateral talks will not only focus on the Spanish recognition of the autonomy plan proposed by Morocco for its southern provinces, because this issue is now endorsed after the telephone conversation between King Mohammed VI and him. King Felipe VI has also been informed of the details of this conversation, says the same source.

In his tweet, the Spanish head of government said that the conversation with the Sovereign has launched a roadmap that consolidates “the new stage between two neighboring countries, strategic partners, based on transparency, mutual respect and compliance with agreements.”

As a reminder, King Mohammed VI had, this Thursday, a telephone conversation with the President of the Spanish government, Pedro Sanchez.

According to a statement from the Royal Cabinet, during this exchange, the Sovereign “reiterated his high appreciation for the content of the message sent to him on March 14 by the President of the Spanish Government.

King Mohammed VI sent, on this occasion, an invitation to Pedro Sánchez to visit Morocco, “in the next few days”.
