Road transport in Morocco 

Following the increase in fuel prices, an amount of about 1.4 billion dirham (MMDH) has been paid so far to road transport professionals, as part of the exceptional subsidy allocated to them by the government, said the Minister of Transport and Logistics, Mohammed Abdeljalil, the House of Representatives, noting that this amount could be revised upwards. 

And to recall that the rate of beneficiaries of the exceptional subsidy dedicated to professionals in the road transport sector has reached 90%.

In terms of supporting the competitiveness of companies active in the field of transport, the Minister announced a battery of measures in their favor. In this context, he reported the release of 250 million dirhams dedicated to the destruction and renewal of the fleet. An amount in addition to 100 million dirhams for the continuation of the training program for professional drivers. 

The Minister noted that professional drivers will benefit from social security coverage, in addition to the simplification of administrative measures. 

Other measures to simplify procedures and support the competitiveness of companies active in the field of transport are being developed by joint committees composed of professionals and representatives of the Ministry, he said.
