Morocco/Covid-19: 2,476 new cases and 4 deaths yesterday 

A total of four new deaths linked to the new coronavirus (Covid-19) have been recorded in the last 24 hours in Morocco, said Saturday the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, which also reports 2,476 new cases of infection.

These deaths were recorded in the regions of Souss-Massa (02), Marrakech-Safi (01) and Beni-Mellal-Khénifra (01), said the ministry in its daily bulletin on the epidemiological situation, announcing a total of 16,151 cases of death.

In addition, a total of 2,476 new cases of infection and 2,974 recoveries have been recorded in the last 24 hours, the bulletin points out, noting that the number of primary vaccinated reached 24,862,236, that of people who received two doses amounted to 23,349,126, while 6,581,340 people had three injections of the vaccine. The number of people who received the fourth dose is 4,847.

The new report of infections brings to 1,240,847 the total number of contaminations since the first case reported in Morocco on March 02, 2020, while the number of recovered people has increased to 1,201,944, representing a recovery rate of 96.9%.

New cases of infection were reported in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (870), Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (573), Fès-Meknès (331), Marrakech-Safi (147), Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima (165), Souss-Massa (125), Béni Mellal-Khénifra (59), l’Oriental (79), Draâ-Tafilalet (54), Guelmim-Oued Noun (23), Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (13) and Laâyoune -Sakia El Hamra (37).

There are 22,752 active cases, while 40 severe or critical cases have been recorded in the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 149. As for the occupancy rate of the resuscitation beds, it is at 2.8%.
