Morocco-Nigeria gas pipeline: A German company for the second phase of the project study

On Wednesday, July 6, Nigeria and Morocco’s state-owned hydrocarbon companies, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and Office National des Hydrocarbures et des Mines (ONHYM), announced the award of a project management consulting contract to a joint venture consisting of ILF Consulting and DORIS Engineering.

“We are pleased to have been selected, along with our Munich office and joint venture partner DORIS Group, to provide project management consulting (PMC) services for the FEED II phase of this project,” ILF said in a statement.

The PMC services include the design of the onshore and offshore pipeline and compressor station, engineering surveys, environmental and social impact assessment (ESIA), land acquisition studies and project implementation framework. The project is investigating the potential for using renewable energy sources to operate the pipeline and reduce the project’s carbon footprint.

“Having already been involved in the feasibility and Phase I FEED of this world-class project, ILF’s award of Phase II is a testament to our long-standing clients ONHYM and NNPC’s confidence in our project management excellence and reliability in executing world-class projects,” said Carles Giró, ILF’s Regional Industrial Facilities Manager.
