Covid-19: Rabat-Salé-Kénitra at the head of the most affected regions 

A total of 219 new cases of infection with the new coronavirus (Covid-19) and 610 recoveries have been recorded in Morocco in the last 24 hours, the Ministry of Health and Social Protection said Sunday, reporting three new deaths.

In its daily bulletin on the epidemiological situation, the Ministry also said that the number of primary vaccinated has reached 24,875,759, the number of people who received two doses is 23,366,061 while 6,674,289 people have had three injections of the vaccine. The number of people who received the fourth dose is 25,832.

The new record of infections brings to 1,260,978 the total number of infections since the first case reported in Morocco on March 02, 2020, while the number of people recovered has risen to 1,240,118, representing a recovery rate of 98.3%.

The new cases of infection were reported in the regions of Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (52), Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima (40), Oriental (32), Casablanca-Settat (25), Souss-Massa (23), Marrakech-Safi (21), Fez-Meknes (17), Draâ-Tafilalet (05), Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (02), Guelmim-Oued Noun (01) and Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra (01). The total number of deaths rose to 16,237 (case fatality 1.3%), with three cases recorded in 24 hours in the regions of Draâ-Tafilalet (02) and Marrakech-Safi (01).

The active cases are 4,623 while the severe or critical cases have reached four in the last 24 hours, bringing their total to 100. As for the occupancy rate of resuscitation beds, it is 1.9%.
