Baitas: “the suicide case of the resident doctor is in the hands of justice”

In response to a question during the press briefing that followed the weekly meeting of the Council of Government, Mustapha Baitas said that the case of the young doctor who committed suicide while he was doing a course of specialization in France is in the hands of justice while stating that the Ministry of supervision has conducted internal investigations on the subject.
Mustapha Baitas was also keen to point out that the deceased was pursuing his studies to obtain the national diploma of specialization in urology at the hospital Ibn Rochd. And continued that he validated his internships and had obtained good grades.
Since the beginning of the year 2022 until June, the young man had participated in 27 surgeries, including 5 in June. Like his colleagues, the deceased had completed a traineeship in urological oncology. He had also performed the guards in the emergency services.
In this sense, the government spokesman said that “the government is committed to the reform of the health sector in its entirety” and continued that “the issue of training of resident doctors is one of the main topics of this reform.

Thus, he recalled that the government is committed to the cause of doctors by trying to improve their remuneration and working conditions.
