The Council of the Bar Association of Casablanca has decided to continue its protest movement against the government. This, about the tax provisions of the Draft Finance Law (PLF) 2023 and what they stipulate as taxation to the black robes of the Kingdom.
This is the second week of the protest, despite the fact that lawyers’ representatives have been promised a compromise by the government on the settlement of the tax measure.
In a statement issued last Saturday, the Council of the Bar Association of Casablanca has ensured to stick to the protest movements mentioned in previous releases and, thus, continue the strike, launched Monday, November 7, until next Friday.
As a result, lawyers are being asked to boycott hearings, cashiering and electronic filing. However, filings with a due date are not affected by the boycott, said the statement.
In addition, the lawyers were called to participate massively in the sit-in organized, this Tuesday, November 8, even, in front of the Parliament, day coinciding with the date of the discussions relating to the PLF2023.
It should be noted that this rise to the battlements of lawyers, nationwide, also coincides with the boycott by the concerned of the Minister of Justice, Abdellatif Ouahbi, while holding to continue the dialogue with Fouzi Lakjaâ, Minister Delegate to the Minister of Economy and Finance, responsible for the Budget.
