A thirty-three year old cardiologist suspected of being involved in a case of corruption and abuse of influence was arrested Tuesday, November 1, in Khenifra, by elements of the judicial police under the regional district of the city’s security, a police source said.
Indeed, a complaint to the competent prosecutor’s office stating that the doctor involved asked the son of a patient to give him a sum of money so that he could examine him through a medical device, said the same source.
A mousetrap was set up by the Khenifra police and he was caught pocketing the bribe. The same police source said that the respondent was kept in custody under the supervision of the prosecutor general and subjected to interrogations.
