Khouribga tragedy: heavy sentence for the bus driver

The Court of First Instance of Khouribga has rendered its verdict in the case of the road tragedy that cost the lives of more than 20 people last August. The driver of the bus was sentenced to 4 years in prison.

According to information available to the Moroccan press, the driver was also sentenced to pay a fine of 22,000 dirhams, while his assistant was sentenced to 4 months in prison and a fine of 700 dirhams.

As a reminder, a bus had overturned at the level of the national road No. 11, linking Khouribga and Fkih Ben Salah. 25 passengers died and a dozen people were injured. Excessive speed would have been behind the loss of control of the vehicle.
