Nayef Aguerd, the defender of the Moroccan national team, is one of the most successful players who attracted the attention of the world during the World Cup Qatar 2022, and the youngest of the team.
He was born on March 30, 1996 in the city of Kenitra. He grew up in a family of distinguished sportsmen. He is the son of said Aguerd, and his uncles are Majid Aguerd and Abdul Haq Aguerd, who played in the center of defense at Kenitra Athletic Club in the eighties.
His soccer career, like many sons of Moroccans, began in the back alleys of the neighborhood. He received the attention of Tonya, the former player of “KAC” and “Fath Union Sports”, who was supervising the juniors of the Association of the Ministry of Justice at the Al Salam stadium in Kenitra, and who convinced his mother to allow him to join the soccer school “KAC”, before joining the Kenitra Athletic Club, and then joining the Mohammed VI soccer academy, the nursery of Moroccan soccer talents.
In 2014, he will receive an offer from the coach Walid Regragui, convinced of his competence, to join the sports team Al-Fatah, an offer to which he accepted, especially after the failure of the agreement to join the Spanish team “Valencia”, and he managed to be one of the architects of its history, after the team from Rabat won the Throne Cup and then the championship.
In 2016, the former coach of the Moroccan national team, Herve Renard, called him to play with the Lions, in the friendly match that brought them together with the national team of Albania, after observing his brilliance in many matches and won his confidence, and from him he joined the French team “Dijon” in 2018 before moving to the French club “Rennes”, where he showed great talent in the center of the defense but he worked hard to return quickly to the stadiums and regain his physical form.
Aguerd is distinguished by great tactical discipline and the ability to push the high balls, thanks to his size and fitness, which made him one of the irreplaceable players of the Moroccan national team, except in case of injury or penalty, as it happened in the match against the French team.
The brilliant national team defender had said in a previous press interview that it was Tonya and Pogba, a former KAC youth player, who discovered him, and that it was Tonya who convinced his mother to allow him to join the KAC soccer school.
