Casablanca: The Arab Theatre Festival returns after a two-year break

Casablanca will host, from 10 to 16 January 2023, the 13th edition of the Arab Theatre Festival, organized by the Arab Theatre Authority, in cooperation with the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication. At a press conference in Sharjah, the Arab Theatre Authority said that the organization of this edition comes after the postponements decided during the years 2021 and 2022 because of the pandemic Coronavirus, Casablanca was chosen in 2021 to host the event.

On the menu of this cultural event, which will see the participation of actors, artists and other representatives of Arab and international cultural institutions, are 16 theatrical performances, in addition to many works eligible for the Prize of Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi (2022), and a large number of Moroccan plays that will be presented in several cities in the Kingdom. Also, the event will be punctuated by the reading of the message of the Arab Theatre Day by the great Iraqi director Jawad Al-Assadi, at the opening of this festival meeting.

The festival will be marked by the tribute that will be paid to ten Moroccan actors, the organization of several seminars to discuss theatrical plays presented, signing ceremonies of 12 books related to Moroccan theater, as well as the organization of training workshops.

The Arab Theatre Authority had announced the names of the young Arab researchers qualified for the first three positions of the 7th edition of the Arab Theatre Research Competition.
