The prefectural service of the judicial police of Casablanca has foiled, Friday, on the basis of accurate information provided by the Directorate General of Territorial Surveillance (DGST), an attempt to international drug trafficking and seized 25,000 tablets of ecstasy.
The quantity of psychotropic drugs seized was in the possession of the driver of an international transport truck registered in Europe, said the Directorate General of National Security (DGSN) in a statement, adding that the suspect, who was bringing the cargo from Spain, tried to deliver it to a second suspect in Casablanca.
During this operation, it was also seized the vehicle used in international drug trafficking. The driver and the second suspect were taken into custody and placed at the disposal of the investigation, conducted under the supervision of the competent prosecutor to clarify the possible national and international ramifications of this criminal activity and determine all the acts incriminating the two defendants, concludes the statement.
