Moroccan journalist Nora Fouari revealed to the Moroccan public through her newly launched website H-News that two Moroccan artists, Rajaa and Omar Belmir, were totally banned from entering the US after they performed an evening without having a legal work permit. American authorities stamped the two artists’ passports with a lifetime entry ban because American law requires anybody who wants to perform in the US to have the correct visa or permit.
Rajaa and Omar Belmir had traveled to the US to perform a concert in Orlando as part of the celebrations of the Green March in November 2022 before they agreed to perform a second concert, which they were not legally allowed to perform, which led to the intervention of the US authorities who were only aware of the first concert.
