Morocco: Poultry prices are on the rise again

Poultry prices continue to soar. In Casablanca, chicken costs between 20 and 22 dirhams per kilo in several markets, to the great displeasure of consumers.

Khalid Rabti, the communication officer of the Interprofessional Federation of the poultry sector (FISA), had indicated that this increase is also caused by the fallout of the pandemic on the sector in the last two years.

Rabti assured us that the price of feed, especially corn and soybeans, has doubled, which directly impacts the selling price to citizens. The price of production has risen to 16-16.50 dh per head, which does not leave a large margin of gain for farmers
