30 years in prison for a Frenchman who killed his two minor children

Thirty years’ imprisonment. This was the verdict handed down on Thursday July 20 by the criminal division of the Marrakech Court of Appeal against a French national for having killed his two children by injecting them with a suspicious substance in a hotel room before attempting suicide. The 72-year-old French national, a retired nurse, was found unconscious in a hotel room in the Gueliz district of Marrakech on Monday November 28, 2022, next to the bodies of his two children, aged 9 and 13 respectively. Divorced from a Moroccan wife, he wrote a handwritten letter in which he explained the motive for this double crime, which appeared to be a family affair. The two children showed no signs of physical violence, but investigators did notice injection marks on their backs. They found used medical syringes at the scene of the crime.
