The manager of a bank branch in Tiflet and two employees, including a woman, implicated in a case of embezzlement were recently arrested and brought before the Public Prosecutor’s Office at the Rabat Court of Appeal. Following a complaint, an employee of the said agency, in her fifties, who was travelling abroad, was arrested on her return to Morocco on Saturday July 1. Accused of embezzling over 4 million dirhams, she confessed to having stolen several thousand dirhams from the accounts of the agency’s customers, with the participation of the agency manager and another employee. The latter were also arrested by members of the financial crimes unit of the Rabat prefectural judicial police. All three were handed over to the examining magistrate.
