The Foire Régionale de l’Artisanat, a major event dedicated to highlighting ancestral “savoir-faire” and authentic crafts long practiced by talented master craftsmen, takes place from July 26 to August 6 in Essaouira.
Initiated by the Chambre Régionale de l’Artisanat Marrakech- Safi around the theme “Authentic Crafts: Art and Creation”, this fair will see the participation of some 56 exhibitors among craftsmen and craftswomen, explain the organizers.
Organized in partnership with the Ministry of Tourism, Handicrafts and the Social and Solidarity Economy, the Maison de l’Artisan, the province of Essaouira, and the town’s Communal Council,
the fair is part of the annual program of the Marrakech-Safi Regional Handicrafts Chamber, particularly in terms of marketing and promoting handicrafts.
Covering an area of 1,000 m2, the fair offers an opportunity to discover the magic and authenticity of handicraft products, including cedar wood objects, leather goods, weaving and tapestry, minerals, plant-based products, pottery, stone, cosmetics, art and decorative objects, as well as food products.
The fair, which is open to both professional cooperatives and individual artisans, includes a series of parallel activities for the benefit of participating artisans and craftswomen, including a training session, as well as awareness-raising sessions on a wide range of issues of interest to artisans and the craft sector.
