Rabat: Confluence of civilizations in a Moroccan-Asian fusion

The 5th edition of the Moroccan-Asian Intercultural Encounter (MASIAN), organized by the AL KHAYZOURANE association in partnership with the Mohammed V University of Rabat and the Rabat Faculty of Sciences, took place in Rabat on November 11 and 12, 2023. The event was a true celebration of cultural diversity, offering a space for exchange and sharing between Moroccan and Asian cultures.

The opening of the event was marked by a series of conferences, workshops, artistic performances and interactive discussions. Offering a variety of discoveries, the headquarters of the Faculty of Sciences in Rabat presented stands dedicated to each country, featuring an exhibition of local produce, culinary tastings, yoga sessions, K-pop shows and Bollywood dances.

Through this initiative, MASIAN encouraged interaction between Moroccan culture and that of the participating Asian countries, including China (country of honor), South Korea, India, Indonesia, Japan and Vietnam, with the embassies of these countries being partners in this edition.
The Centre Culturel de Chine in Rabat is also gearing up to celebrate its third anniversary in December, promising a program packed with exciting events. With festivities planned and a dynamic cultural agenda, this celebration promises to be a memorable moment for the institution. What’s more, for the start of the coming year, the Centre plans to organize special activities to celebrate Chinese New Year, offering yet another opportunity to discover and immerse oneself in Chinese culture.
