Icelandic rock phenomenon Kaleo at Jazzablanca on June 8

The date is set. Icelandic band Kaleo is set to set the Casa Anfa stage alight on Saturday June 8, as part of the 17th edition of the Jazzablanca festival.

With over 4 billion streams to their credit and no fewer than 60 international awards, Kaleo is undeniably one of the sensations of the moment in the world of rock, folk and blues, say the organizers of the Casablanca festival in a press release.

Hailing from Iceland, the band, whose name means “the sound” in Hawaiian, is famous for its electrifying performances and the bewitching, blues-infused voice of its singer and guitarist, Jökull Júlíusson.
After a debut album in 2013, Kaleo made its mark with the release of its second opus, A/B, in 2016. The album was a global success, propelling the band on a triumphant three-year tour across the U.S. and Europe.

Certified platinum in the U.S., Australia and Russia, and triple platinum in Canada, the A/B album spawned the mega-hit “Way Down We Go”, featured in the soundtracks of hit U.S. series such as “Grey’s Anatomy”, “This is us” and “Riverdale”, as well as in video games FIFA 16 and FIFA 23
.
Having had the honor of opening for the Rolling Stones on numerous occasions, Kaleo has also set the stage alight at major festivals such as Coachella, Lollapalooza and Bonnaroo.
Following the release of his third album, “Surface Sounds”, Kaleo embarked on a new world tour in 2022, visiting no less than 92 cities in 22 countries and attracting hundreds of thousands of spectators.
