Two individuals arrested in Sidi Kacem and Salé for alleged trafficking in psychotropic drugs

In two separate operations on Saturday morning, elements of the Sidi Kacem and Salé judicial police, in coordination with the services of the Direction générale de la surveillance du territoire, arrested two individuals with criminal records, for their alleged involvement in the possession and trafficking of psychotropic drugs.

The first operation, carried out in Sidi Kacem, led to the arrest of a 23-year-old man as soon as he arrived on board a train from a town in the north of the Kingdom, according to a security source. The suspect was apprehended in possession of 748 Ecstasy and Rivotril psychotropic tablets, in addition to a sum of money which would be the proceeds of this criminal activity.

The second operation, carried out by the Salé judicial police, resulted in the arrest of a 28-year-old man in flagrante delicto for possession of 1,750 Ecstasy-type psychotropic tablets, as well as a sum of money from this criminal activity.

The defendants were placed in police custody for the purposes of the investigation, which is being carried out under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office, to determine the ins and outs of these cases, as well as all the criminal acts of which they are accused.
