The EBRD Wants to Exceed €2 Billion per Year in Morocco

the EBRD sets the bar very high. The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is ramping up in the kingdom, according to Les Inspirations Eco newspaper, in its publication on Wednesday December 4, the international financial institution now intends to exceed the €2 billion mark in annual investment in Morocco.

Alain Pilloux, Vice-President of the EBRD, made the announcement on the occasion of the opening of the bank’s regional office in Agadir on Monday. “The idea is to contribute to the financing of regional development plans and urban infrastructure, and by also supporting the investments needed for the development of basic infrastructure, including water and electricity, as well as railways, renewable energies, ports and airports, in addition to supporting companies outside the kingdom to the South or the North,” he said.

The creation of a regional office in Agadir, dedicated to the Souss-Massa and Marrakech-Safi regions, is a sign of contribution to the advanced regional process to boost the regions and support businesses outside the traditional Casablanca-Rabat axis with a proximity to the advisory service,” says Claudia Wiedey, head of the EU delegation in Morocco.
