Moroccan Model Tilila Oulhaj Becomes the New Face of Yves Saint Laurent

Tilila Oulhaj, the 23-year-old Moroccan model who has gone from modeling for local brands such as Maison ARTC and Bougroug to the cover of Vogue Arabia, has just been revealed as the new face of Yves Saint Laurent Beauty’s new cosmetics collection entitled “Pure Shots”.

Tilila Oulhaj “is making Marrakech its playground of fashion”, writes Vogue World in an article dedicated to the Moroccan model.

Born in Azilal, Tilila Oulhaj grew up in the Atlas Mountains and worked as a teacher before deciding to move to Marrakech to start a modeling career. The young woman represents the two sides of a world that is as much modern as it is traditional.

She is currently the face of “Maison ARTC”, a brand known for its clever and unique pieces, designed by Artsi Ifrach. Tilila has also worked for the Scandinavian brand “Bougroug”.

Tilila Oulhaj has just been revealed as the new face of Yves Saint Laurent Beauty’s new cosmetics collection entitled “Pure Shots”. Oulhaj was photographed by her friend, the Moroccan photographer Mous Lamrabat for the Parisian label’s Instagram.

In an interview given to Vogue World, Tilila Oulhaj explains the approach describing her style. “Modeling and fashion are booming in Morocco right now. My personal style is somewhere between traditional, streetwear and what could be called ‘chic’, but it depends on the situation I am in. I always add my own personal touch to everything I wear.”

It was in 1966 that Yves Saint Laurent and its partner Pierre Bergé first visited this North African country. Laurent was born and grew up in Algeria, but it was Morocco that became its heart’s desire. In 1966, Yves Saint Laurent fell madly in love with Marrakech and its colors. Since then, it has used the city as a source of inspiration for its creation.

In 2020, the journey continues, bolder than ever. The new make-up and skincare collection is infused with natural and powerful ingredients. They are picked from the brand’s Ourika gardens, a botanical garden located at the base of the Atlas Mountains.
