Genoa’s Moroccan international defender Jawad El Yamiq, who was on a loan deal in Perugia last season in Serie B, will play for Real Zaragoza this year, the Spanish media reported. He arrives in Aragon on a loan with an option to buy.
Jawad El Yamiq arrived at Genoa in January 2018 from Raja de Casablanca, but has never managed to establish himself within the Italian squad. After a first loan move last season with Perugia in Serie B, where he played 22 matches, the former Olympique Club de Khouribga player is about to discover a third club in two years. He arrives in Zaragoza to gain some playing time and above all to strengthen the Zaragoza defense, which is in the running for a move up to La Liga.
Besides being able to play in the center of the pitch, El Yamiq can also play on the left side. Standing 1.90m tall, El Yamiq has a very good headers and a good sense of anticipation. He should therefore stabilize the Spanish defensive sector. However, he will have to earn his place in a sector of play that includes four other central defenders by profession, namely Atienza, Guitian, Grippo and Clemente.
