By Order of the King, Military Medical Services Take Part in the Fight against Coronavirus

Following royal instructions, military medicine will take part, together with its civilian counterpart, in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic. Details according to a Royal Cabinet press release.

“His Majesty King Mohammed VI, God help him, Supreme Leader and Chief of General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces (RAF), has given his High Instructions to Lieutenant General, RAF Inspector General Abdelfettah Louarrak, Commander of the Royal Gendarmerie, Mohamed Haramou, and the Inspector of the FAR Military Health Service, Brigadier General Mohamed Elabbar, to ensure that military medicine takes part jointly with its civilian counterpart in the delicate mission of fighting the Covid-19 pandemic.”

Furthermore, and in order to make up for certain shortcomings observed concerning this pandemic and to facilitate the transmission and exchange of information between the various services concerned, His Majesty the King gave his very high instructions to the effect of deploying military medical means to reinforce the medical structures dedicated to the management of this pandemic, in the form of medical and paramedical FAR staff as from Monday 23 March 2020.

In line with the High Royal Instructions, the Social Services of the FAR and the Royal Gendarmerie will also be mobilized as part of this operation.

His Majesty the King, may God assist him, urges in this particular context, civilian and military doctors to work in good understanding and intelligence, as they have always done, because the health of Moroccans and foreigners in Morocco is at stake”.
