The Latest Fake News about Covid-19 in Morocco

More than 5.8 million people around the world have been infected with the Coronavirus. As a result, a large number of false news reports are spread on news sites and social networks. Here is the classification between the false and the true information for a better awareness:

-Mosques across the Kingdom will reopen on June 04th, 2020. FALSE

-The National Airports Office (ONDA) is preparing the reopening of airports, starting with Mohammed V airport. FALSE

-Wiqaytna, the contact tracking application for Coronavirus-positive individuals, will access all contacts and user data. FALSE

– 35 new cases of infection with the new Coronavirus (Covid-19) have been confirmed in Morocco, bringing the total number of cases of contamination to 7,636. TRUE

-nearly two million claims were registered by households in the informal sector via the portal “www.tadamoncovid.ma”. TRUE

-The number of active cases reached 2,421, a rate of 6.7% for every 100,000 inhabitants. TRUE

-National Railway Agency (ONCF) is improving the offer of high-speed shuttle trains (TNR) from Monday 1 June 2020, which will be maintained at reduced speed during periods of confinement on the Casa Port-Settat, Casa Port-El Jadida and Casa Port-Rabat-Kénitra local routes. TRUE
