National Security Announces Three Arrests

The Provincial Security officials in Salé managed, Monday evening and Tuesday afternoon, to arrest three individuals, including a 17-year-old minor, suspected of refusing to comply and causing a traffic accident while exposing the lives of public officials to danger by means of a scooter (Three-wheeler).

The suspects had refused to obey a police officer in charge of controlling health emergency measures in the town of Salé, before taking over the security arrangements using a scooter, thus exposing a police officer to voluntary injuries after dragging him over a long distance using the scooter, the Directorate General of National Security (DGSN) said in a statement, adding that this fact had been documented in a video relayed on social networks.

Immediate investigations by the judicial police services have identified the suspects, before one of them was arrested Monday evening in the Laayayda neighborhood in Salé, in addition to seizing the scooter used in these criminal acts, notes the source, pointing out that the second suspect who was driving the scooter was also arrested in the area of Bouchane, near Ben Guérir, while their third companion was arrested in Salé.

The minor suspect was placed under police control, while the second and third suspects were placed in police custody at the disposal of the preliminary investigation conducted by the provincial judicial police service of Salé, under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office, in order to determine the details of these criminal acts, the DGSN concludes.
