During the preparations for Eid Al Adha, the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development and Water and Forestry are informing all operators concerned of the necessary measures that must be taken to ensure appropriate sanitary conditions in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic, announced on Wednesday a joint statement by the two ministries.
Thus, in the current conditions of Covid-19, and in addition to the usual measures for monitoring animal health and hygiene conditions, further preventive measures must be adopted throughout the entire chain from the sale of animals to the day of sacrifice, the statement said.
In this regard, continued the same source, a guide of preventive sanitary measures for Covid-19 should be respected on the day of Eid, particularly by butchers and organizational measures to be introduced in livestock markets for Eid Al Adha, the installation of additional temporary souks for Eid Al Adha, the reinforcement of control measures for the transport of animals destined for Eid throughout the territory and the extension of sanitary measures to the economic trades that develop around the Aid Al Adha event to preserve these jobs.
The responsible services of the two ministries are working hard in order to continue the preparations to ensure the implementation of the required measures and to ensure the respect of the conditions for the smooth running of the Aid Al Adha festival during Covid-19, in close coordination with the departments, establishments, municipalities and professional organizations concerned, the press release concluded.
