Hakim Ziyech spoke about his transfer to Chelsea. The Atlas Lion opened his heart to the official website of his new club, which he officially joined last weekend from Ajax Amsterdam.
The former Ajax playmaker once again expressed his joy at being part of the Blues’ squad. For him, playing in the Premier League was a dream come true.
“I’m very happy and it means a lot to me to be here. When I used to play at junior level in Heerenveen, I admired Drogba, Lampard, Terry, all the big names here. When you’re young, you always want to play for a big club, in the Premier League of course,” said the 27-year-old Moroccan international.
In his statement, Ziyech did not forget to thank Frank Lampard and explained the major role he played in bringing him to the club. “I hope to bring something extra to the team next season and I think I’ll be fit for the Premier League,” he added.
Ziyech is currently under contract for the next five years. The cost of his transfer is estimated at €40 million.
